it's updating fine?
[#197891] Written by: vibe666 [06/04/2013, 05:18]
not been working for me for months, but i think it's a utorrent thing.

i've tried both http://www.ezrss.it/feed/ (which is from the link at the top of the eztv.it website, but shows
as invalid in utorrent) and just http://www.ezrss.it/ (which shows as valid in utorrent, but the contents are
blank), even though i can see the feed when i open it in my browser and it works fine if i throw
http://www.ezrss.it/feed/ into feedly or google reader, so i don't think it's an issue with the feed itself,
rather the way utorrent handles feeds?

it may be caused by me using an older build of utorrent, maybe the way feeds are handled has changed
over time and the older utorrent client can't read them now for some reason?

in any case, all my other feeds are working fine in the same instance of utorrent, even a syndicated rss of
eztv feeds from multiple sites at http://feeds.feedburner.com/eztv-rss-atom-feeds?format=xml which is
very handy in that it keeps feed entries for longer than any of the individual sites would and takes the
eztv rss from the likes of the piratebay and several others.

the downside of it is that there are duplicate entries, but aside from making the feed a little ugly, it works a
treat and even if one feed goes down, there are always others that are still up, so it works for me. )

just noticed that some rss-torrents had started popping up again! i thank you so much for the effort
of getting them back up!

doing a great job, and i hope that all is well "outside" of eztv! keep it up!

with the announcement that google reader is being retired on july 1st i'm going to have to
come up with some other way to aggregate feeds for
http://feeds.feedburner.com/eztv-rss-atom-feeds?format=xml .

what a pain.

well, it took me a while to get to around to it, but my aggregate eztv feed (eztv home page + eztv rss
+ pirate bay eztv user) has now been made independent of google reader. btw, twitter has been
removed - see next post.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/eztv-rss-atom-feeds?format=xml

it should continue to work as before, but should update a bit faster (since it's no longer dependent on the
gr update interval). the pubdate is the datetime that the entry with the link was first added to my system,
and will never change for a particular entry once set.

currently it's only going to have the last 100 items in feedburner (the previous version had the last 500).
i'd like to monitor it for a bit before increasing the number of items.

let me know if you have any problems with the feed.

just noticed as well that the links in the twitter feed no longer link to torrent files but to the download
page. given that, i've decided to remove the twitter feed from the aggregation unless and until this
changes.

looking more carefully at the forums, i realized that the question i posted in the "technical" thread
probably should have been posted here. so let me try this again. :-)

rss question:

a couple of days ago, i set up a long list of shows for rss via utorrent. during these first days of
operation, i've had some shows dl automatically to the correct file; while some others haven't dl'd at all.
all shows are set up for dl from the same feed (ezrss.it); and directed to go to the same file. there are no
differing selection criteria among the shows, other than their titles, of course; and the titles are entered just
as they appear in eztv.

any idea why some have worked (under the dome; major crimes; the glades; magic city);
and some haven't (true blood; falling skies; king & maxwell; longmire) have not?

does it have anything to do with either or both of eztv and/or utorrent being open in the background? i'm
totally stumped. (not unusual for me when dealing with anything technical.) :-)

eztv has been a friend to me for some years now.
recently my isp blocked the site as a form of censorship. sadly, virgin media purely sees eztv as a
pirate site and has no idea of the information that is available on shows, dates etc.
thank you eztv for directing us to ways of circumnavigating the censorship. and thank you for the
service.
long may you continue.

is rss down again? it's been down for at least a day.
[#209414] Written by: Nostromo21 [26/12/2013, 20:19]
yeah i think the rss feed (http://ezrss.it/feed/) has been down for at least a week now, sadly.
i use the following in vuze as well, in case this helps anyone:

http://showrss.karmorra.info/feeds/all.rss
http://rss.bt-chat.com/?group=3
[#209416] Written by: BoonesFerry [26/12/2013, 22:14]

any issues that ezrss may be experiencing are not
likely to be addressed until well after the holidays.

alternative rss feeds for eztv torrents:

fyi, i think i know what is causing this. somehow the rss feed is not reflecting what is actually posted in
the front page. some of the episodes displayed there are simply not showing at all in the rss feed.

in other words, it is not an issue with your setup but with the rss feed itself.

does anyone know what might be happening? any workarounds?

i assume this was a reply to my post. yes, i did read the previous messages that talked about the rss not
working at all. what i am seeing is that the rss feed works (for some definition of working anyway) but
some random entries are missing in it. i expected it to be a different problem from what was discussed
earlier.

but yes, i am using the bt-chat alternative and that one seems to be working as expected.
