thanks eztv!

if that woman captain, superintendent, or whatever she is, doesn't lose that
clipboard under her arm i'll go down there and slap her over the head with it.

it's bad direction. she's in an inferior position because she's a woman (that's
how the director sees her role) and holding the clipboard even in the field,
going to investigate a crime scene, is a substitute for her lack of authority.

her role is purely a "motherly" one and one of a paper shuffler, she doesn't
make important decisions or have a major influence in the stories like the men
do in the show.

same goes with the other woman cop who is supposed to take the sexism without
complaining and try harder to prove herself by being better than the men. that's
what hazlehurst's character told her in the women's bathroom in another episode
- while holding a clipboard.

the show's cliches and attitudes about people seem to be stuck somewhere in the
70's.

well really she as all women should be at home baking cakes and making babies,
as well as cleaning the home.
